About

Coral is an emerging singer-songwriter based in California whose mission is to create music that sincerely expresses the human experience and  that motivates listeners to choose hope. Combining poetic lyrics with raw emotion melded through layers of vocal and instrumental harmonies, she aims to genuinely connect to and inspire listeners intellectually and emotionally.

Coral began songwriting during her senior year of high school, marrying her long-time knack for poetry with her newly discovered voice. Encouraged to "sing-and-play" during her piano lessons, she began to cultivate her voice by singing praise songs at church.

Her musical aesthetic is largely influenced by her love for symphonic film scores. Growing up as a competitive figure skater, Coral listened to a great deal of film soundtracks when selecting songs for her skating routines. She grew a deep appreciation for the genre and now draws much of her musical inspiration from composers like Joe Hisaishi. She has developed a sound that incorporates a light rock base with piano ballad inspiration, covered by symphonic overtones.

In 2012, Coral was a member of Los Angeles-based band C;Key. They released a fund-raising EP of her original works in 2013 and performed locally in LA and abroad in Malaysia. She has since released her first solo single, "Reverie," for the independent film, Ice The Movie, and has worked on music for the independent film, The Extraordinary Ordinary. Her debut solo EP, “Dream,” was released on September 20, 2019.
